This is a cause that is very close to my heart so I am always passionate about raising as much as I can for the cancer society. This is the second time we have put a team together: the last time we raised $1700. How did we go this time?
This time we smashed it with $2967!
Some of our fund raising efforts included…
- Punish the trainer: donate a gold coin and you had the opportunity to give Mark, one of our personal trainers an exercise to do for a minute. If clients were to get together and plan this right, they could be extremely mean! They did get better and better at it!
- Cake sales: we had so many excess cakes that we had to sell platters for the whole of the next week to surrounding businesses
- Pamper morning: two of our team put on a facials, nails and hand massage pamper, while one of our massage staff volunteered to put on chair massage. This was so popular they had to run a second one at a clients house one evening the following week!
- Burt Munro subsidised street races tickets: we donated the difference back to the cancer society.
Here are some clips of the weekend events. We ran several Facebook lives, so the whole recording of each of the ceremonies featured can be found on our Facebook page.
We would like to say a massive thank you to absolutely everyone who has been involved in helping us fund raise for this years Cancer Society Otago & Southland Division Inc. Relay for Life, all our clients, team members, their friends and families and all those of you who donated to our fund raising efforts.
Also thank you to:
Plumbing World NZ Invercargill for purchasing some street race tickets as a fund raiser
Vital Signs – Southland Ltd and McCallums Dry Cleaning (for subsidising / sponsoring our Relay for Life team T-shirt order)
And last but by no means least, thank the following companies for their kind online donations:
We are very proud to say you have all helped us to raise a fabulous $2967 for the Cancer Society to help them continue their fabulous work and support all those who are affected by this awful disease, exceeding our total from 2 years ago by over $1000 and absolutely smashing our $2000 target.
Once again, thank you to you all.
