Christmas is a time of celebration, of indulgence (usually, although one of my clients has LOST weight over Christmas despite having all the trimmings) so now is the time to get back into action. Just because you have had a week off doesn’t mean you need to throw the towel in!
This is the first day of the rest of your life. If you don’t like the path you are on, then change it! Only YOU can create your destiny.
Some ways to get started
- Face the scales. It may not be as bad as you think. Even if it is, forewarned is forearmed and now you have a change to get back to walking the path of exercise
- Set yourself a goal. Make it a short term, achievable one that can easily be measured. That way you KNOW when you have succeeded. So many people make goals like ‘I want to lose weight’ or ‘I want to get fit’. How can that me measured, it is far too vague!
- Take the first step. Make a booking, make a date you cannot NOT turn up for. Commit to the first step and the rest will follow.
- Look at the small steps, not the whole mountain. Seeing small details, setting small short term goals makes everything feel a lot more achievable. Look too far ahead and you will just get overwhelmed, which places you in danger of giving up. Small steps are the best ones!
