It’s the small things that we often don’t even notice. When I was a special needs teacher it was the small steps that became big ones. In personal training clients it’s the same. It’s all too easy to be focussed on the now and forget where you started from and how you got here.
Take running for example. Or spin classes. Why does it never seem to get any easier? That is because you are getting fitter, so each week you push yourself just a little more, so the rate of perceived effort never appears to change whereas if we measured output we would see the progress.
Don’t forget, it’s the small steps that lead to the big steps and all journeys are best done in small steps. 🙂
