I got this book free on my iPad, I think it’s because it’s a new series, and they hope to hook you in to buy more. I was not sure what to expect, I haven’t ever read anything by is author. It’s a mystery / action / humour storyline, absolutely hilarious, and I would highly recommend it! I would say women would like it more, but don’t let me prejudice you if you want to have a look at it.
When a book starts like this you know you’re in for some great entertainment:
“I stepped off the Learjet at the private airfield just before dawn. I’d been on the plane exactly seventeen hours, twenty-six minutes and fourteen seconds, wearing the same eight-hundred-dollar dress I’d worn when I killed a man twenty-five hours earlier. One of my shoes hadn’t made it out of the desert, and I clutched what remained of the other shoe in my right hand and my nine millimeter in the left. Apparently, eight-hundred-dollar dresses didn’t come with pockets or holsters, and I didn’t have the kind of cleavage that made a viable hiding place.”

The storyline has so many twists and turns that you will never be able to guess what is going to happen next. The main character is hilariously frank and very likeable, despite being a female who is a trained assassin! She ‘slips up’ while on a CIA job and is sent under cover to deepest Louisiana to act the part of a girly librarian, which couldn’t be further from her actual character if they tried. She then gets tangled up in more ‘stuff’ which makes for a very entertaining storyline.
At 276 pages it’s a light easy read, which shouldn’t take you long.
If you want some light humour of a slightly different kind, give this book a go.
