QUOTE: Options open? Or options closed?

Opening doors I’ve had to do this a few times now, and it is a scary thing. Human nature is such that we like to keep our options open, keep all the doors ajar ‘just in case’.

Sound familiar?

Or, the opposite problem is to close all the doors and wait for just one to open. There needs to be a balance.

The thing with life and planning the future is this. Being too laser minded means we might miss great opportunities that we just didn’t see in our peripheral vision. Keeping too many doors open might just spread our attention too thin, like spinning plates. We spend so much energy monitoring all the options that we waste time and still miss our golden opportunity.

Sometimes doors need to be closed, when we KNOW in our hearts that they don’t go anywhere. But, keep a few viable ones open too.
