Daily post: Is there a sailor?

Books‘Open your nearest book to page 82.

Take the third full sentence on the page, and work it into a post somehow.’

Jeez that’s a hard daily post. My nearest book is Terry Pratchett!

Is there a kind of sailor that uses a canoe with sort of extra bits on the side and a sort of red eye painted on the front and a small sail?’ She said.

Imagine the sea
Heave and swell.
Small sail,
Red eye,
Distant land.

Imagine the canoe,
The sailor inside.
Wiry, thin
Red eye,
Hopeful man.

Imagine the weather,
Sun and rain.
Small boat,
Red eye,
Ship wrecked man.

I have only just started reading this book, it was ‘Sourcery’ by Terry Pratchett. I have no idea what the sentence on page 82 is referring to! It is such an abstract sentence that I thought I would write a poem, describing the scene that first came to mind when I read the sentence.

Hope you like it 🙂
