Maximum use of minimum training time


imageI have been working irregular hours this week, which means that its been a challenge at times to fit any training in around things. Like I always say, work pays for life so that comes first, but it is necessar to be flexible when it comes to the rest of our spare time.

My swim is usually an hour of sprints, early in the week,but on this occasion I only had 35 minutes. So, here’s how I made the most of my time:

My 35 min maximum time use set

400m warm up: (200m easy, 100m med pace, 100m harder pace)

50m single arm (alternate at end of 25m)
50m fists drill
200m kick (one arm extended- switch arms at end of 25m)
200m torpedo drill (kick, arms by sides)

X2

4-6x50m sprints, max effort. Keep consistently within 5 secs of each other (reps are time dependent)

5mins warm down, back stroke
