This daily prompt seemed fun: Is there something you’ve always wanted to do, but never got around to starting (an activity, a hobby, or anything else, really)? Tell us about it — and tell us about what’s keeping you from doing it.
Mine might seem a little unusual:
I always loved the sound of them as a child, particularly the Scottish kind, rather than Irish or Northumbrian. When I arrived in New Zealand I discovered that there were in fact several, one actually here in Invercargill.
I called, enquired about joining. They told me I would have to buy a practice chanter and have lessons first. That kinda put me off. What if I paid all that money and didn’t like it? Then there’s the time. Time is a challenge for me as it is, trying and often failing to balance work and life, add this and I would NEVER have time spare.
Perhaps when I’m too old to do exercise I might reconsider. Or when I retire from work!
