Verbal tics: NZ v UK – ‘cross’

20140614-232838-84518765.jpgThis daily post really made me smile. We were talking about this just today.

I was talking to an English friend of mine, and she was telling me about something that makes her ‘cross’. It amused be because I use that term a lot. To me it means a bit irritated but not quite full blown angry. She agreed. However all the people I know in Invercargill think its a hilarious word and laugh every time I use it. Kinda wrecks the ‘mood’ for me somewhat when that happens!

It must be an English thing….
