Anzac day. Lest we Forget: We will Remember Them

Journey to New Zealand

Anzac I have never had the opportunity to attend a service at the Cenotaph before, today was my first. I attended the Dawn Parade at Invercargill Cenotaph, and was absolutely bowled over with the hundreds and hundreds of people who were also there, gathering from 6:45am in the pouring rain.

The Army were in attendance, along with many other services and servicemen, current and past. Cannon and gun salutes, the National anthems of both Australia and New Zealand were also sung, along with two very poignant hymns: ‘Abide with Me’ and ‘O God our help in ages past’.
