Free your mind: wise words from a teenager

BBC drama shorts.jpgI was watching a short drama on BBC IPlayer. It was about a young girl who is living with a violent step father, and a mother who is not strong enough to stop the cycle from continuing.

She decides to act herself because she can’t bear to watch it any longer.

Her words, right at the end of the programme are very poignant; she speaks about not accepting a life that you hate, and actually acting to do something about it.

The view’s down to you
If you don’t rate it, change it
If it all feels to small
Knock the walls down,
Rearrange it

Bend it, extend it
But don’t be a slave to it

Your mind is a muscle
that’s making you free.
