An artists eye: Salvador Dali

Daily post: Is there a painting or sculpture you’re drawn to? What does it say to you? Describe the experience. (Or, if art doesn’t speak to you, tell us why.)

Yes: Salvador Dali’s painting Christ of St John of the cross

Dali fascinates me. This painting drew me in due to the odd angle he has pained the cross. When I studied the painting it drew me into more of his paintings. I began looking for the signs and interpreting them like a jigsaw puzzle.

I love that Dali paints things almost photo like, but with a surreal twist, compelling you to try an work out what the signs mean.

Very fascinating artist that I may well blog about in detail another time.
