What a difference 6 months makes

Around this time last year I was ecstatic. I had earned my first PQ for any type of Euro or World championships, because I came in 3rd Brit in Eilat (European Tri champs). I was asked to be team caption for this years champs and was so excited that I would go with an automatic qualification and as team captain, in what could be my last championship.

Then it all changed. The planned move abroad was accelerated by several months by my new employer, I was forced to resign as both a team member and as team captain, having to face the fact that I had probably already raced my last race for GB without even realising it.

I watched the live tracking results coming in today, so sad that I couldn’t be there with all my team GB friends, missing terribly being part of the championships and being able to wear the GB colours and represent my country.

I am so so pleased that so many of my friends raced well and came back as champions: Jane Saunders, Rachel Bown, Helen Russell, Jackie Phillips to name just a few.

Now I need to look forwards an make new plans: exciting times ahead and so many decisions to be made.
