Eat, or take a pill?

red pill green pillDaily post: If you could get all the nutrition you needed in a day with a pill — no worrying about what to eat, no food preparation — would you do it?

Simple: eat!! Food is not all about the nutrition that keeps us healthy, its much more than that. Humans have, whether we like it or not, an emotional attachment with food. We socialise around it, experiment with it, indulge in it, as well as live by it and use it to fuel our sports and exercise. Everyone has different tastes, and we change our minds. We experiment with other cultures, we like variation, and I couldn’t imagine the world without all of this. 

We would have to redesign our houses, we would not need kitchens, what on earth would then happen to bathrooms? What would happen if we got slimmer, fatter, did lots of exercise, would the pill size need to change? 

I think it would be a mad idea, not to mention something that is almost impossible to achieve. How boring! And, surely the nutrition for high end performance and health would be compromised by making such a choice? I would say that also happens today, albeit on a slightly different scale. 

Would I take the pill? Absolutely not! Would you?
