One day won’t kill you!


A comment I saw on twitter prompted this post today.

Often we get consumed into our daily lives, ups and downs and forget to look at the bigger picture. You couldn’t fit your scheduled training in, perhaps for a few days in a row. Life is about to collapse and you will become fat and unfit?
No, not exactly.

Remember, you are NOT (in all likelihood) a professional athlete. You do this for pleasure. Life happens, work happens, family happens and that is ok.

Your training will still be there tomorrow and you will still be able to swim bike and run the same as you could yesterday.

If you have a busy time ahead and you cannot do the training you hoped, prioritise. Cut out, cut down, pause, tell yourself this is OK. It’s OK for you to deal with LIFE, that is equally important., perhaps more important.

It will be ok, the training will be OK, and you will be back on it again soon. That is also OK.
