180 degree reversal: changing your mind?

u-turnDaily prompt: Tell us about a time you did a 180 — changed your views on something, reversed a decision, or acted in a way you ordinarily don’t

I thought about this for a while. I actually almost didn’t write it. I asked family, and still I sat and wondered what to write.

Because I do what I say I am going to do.

That means that I haven’t had a reversal of decision, that I can think of at all. I am a focused determined person and when I set a goal I know that I will achieve it.

How can I be so certain?

Often people get consumed by the bigger picture, their goal is too big, they cannot see ho on earth they will achieve it. I often do not focus on the grand goal at all. I make a plan, decide on the steps needed in order to achieve that goal, then focus on the steps.

In order to help me, I sometimes document the successes along the way. I used to have a note book, and now I use the blog. In this way I documented the progress I made following the head injury after my cycling accident. I did this because my memory was affected and I needed proof that I was getting better, so I wrote it down. It got a huge following at the time.

I also did it when I had the knee operation last November. Again, I needed to see the progress, and be able to look back over it and reflect on the steps I had made.

I am confident that I can achieve whatever I want to achieve. I have proved that to myself more than once in my life. 🙂

  2. Well … I guess I should make a plan – instead of just lurching towards the end result … well said!
