Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care (IRGH) is inviting people to ‘Get Healthy, Get Happy – for life’ in 2013 by applying for a place in its brand new IRGH Biggest Loser Campaign. In conjunction with four gyms, health and fitness professionals and a nutritionist, this new lifestyle programme will start in January but applications for a place need to be submitted by 3 December.
A place on the programme will offer the successful applicants a free 18 week gym membership at one of the four participating gyms, a special IRGH Biggest Loser nutritional programme devised by leading nutritional adviser, Melanie Ryding of Ryding2Health, and personalised support throughout the 18 week Campaign. All participants will have access to personal trainers and a dedicated IRGH Biggest Loser weekly exercise class, along with full use of the gym facilities, making a true lifestyle change a reality. Kerri Coote, Events Fundraiser, explained:
“We all know that moderating our diets, eating healthily and exercising is the path to losing weight and feeling great but sometimes our busy lives really get in the way. This programme is designed to give those taking part access to help from the very best people when times get tough – and to add in the extra motivation offered by undertaking the campaign as a sponsored challenge.
“We all go through moments of weakness but just imagine how motivating it will be, when confronted with the desire to eat lots of chocolate, to think of all the local families who stand to benefit if you resist temptation!”
A total of 80 people will be offered the chance to transform their lives in 2013, 20 for each of the four gyms participating in the scheme: Nuffield Gym in Aylesbury, Core Strength in Halton, Wendover and the Fitness First Gyms in High Wycombe and St Albans. As an added incentive each gym is offering a year’s free gym membership for the person attached to their gym who decreases their BMI by the biggest percentage, and six months free membership for the runner-up. The Biggest Loser from each gym will also receive a free makeover.
The gyms will then go head to head with the title of overall IRGH Biggest Loser 2013 being awarded to the person who has the biggest percentage BMI decrease out of all the 80 participants. Along with the title, the winner will also receive a two night weekend stay at De Vere Venues’ Wokefield Park in a Mansion House Suite, to include bed and breakfast for two people and complimentary dinner with a bottle of champagne on the first night. The person who raises the most money in sponsorship will win a free night’s accommodation for two with dinner, bed and breakfast at the Whittlebury Hall Hotel and Spa near Towcester.
It is free to apply for a place on the IRGH Biggest Loser Campaign 2013 but applicants are asked to guarantee that they will raise a minimum of £500 in sponsorship money. For further information, please go to www.irghbiggestloser.com .
Application forms are available to download online and should be submitted by the deadline of 3 December.
